Business Development Manager – Nolan France

Location: Cherbourg, France (FR50) – Hybrid Role

Nolan Transport, a family-owned leader in European logistics, operates a state-of-the-art fleet of 700 trucks and 2,000 trailers, offering both temperature-controlled and ambient transport solutions. With a robust network spanning Ireland, the UK, Benelux, Spain, and France, we specialise in European logistics and 3PL transport operations.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our French team located at Cherbourg FR50. This role is pivotal in driving new business, expanding sales, and leading a high-performing customer service team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Development:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy targeting Ireland, the UK, and European markets.
    • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to support revenue growth across full loads, groupage, customs clearance services, and warehousing.
  • Business Growth:
    • Identify and secure new business opportunities, fostering long-term partnerships.
    • Collaborate with clients to tailor transport solutions that meet their needs.
  • Client & Contract Management:
    • Manage relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure high satisfaction and repeat business.
    • Oversee pricing strategies, respond to RFQs, and negotiate multi-million-euro contracts.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis:
    • Conduct ongoing research to stay ahead of market trends, identify new opportunities, and provide strategic insights.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and develop the sales customer service team to deliver excellent client support.
    • Work closely with the wider Nolan Group sales teams to share intelligence and support collective growth.

Your Profile:

  • Proven track record of winning new business in the European 3PL/4PL transport sector.
  • Strong sales experience in the France, UK, and Ireland markets, with demonstrated success in growing international accounts.
  • In-depth understanding of transportation and logistics, including pricing, trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Expertise in building and managing sales pipelines and responding to complex RFQs.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Strategic thinker, proactive problem solver, and passionate about the logistics industry.
  • Proficiency in transport management systems and related software.
  • Flexibility to travel for business as required.
